VMWare with Oracle database link

Hello *,

we've got a problem with Oracle 8i under Windows 2000 and VMWare. The thing is that we want to make a database link from the Oracle instance on Windows 2000 to a Oracle instance installed under VMWare with Win 2000 on the same machine.
It doesn't work --> ORA-02085

When try to connect from the client instance to the instance on VMWare with sqlplus, it is very slow.

Has someone experience with such a constellation??
