Oracle, like nearly every other off-the-shelf software package has two
choices when you install their software:
- They can ask a few questions and install the "typical" stuff.
- They can ask a zillion questions and install exactly what you'll use
- nothing more, nothing less.
The first option is what most off-the-shelf packages use. And you end up
with plenty of stuff that you don't need, and will probably never use.
It's the option Oracle chooses.
