mutliple homes

Hello

I just installed Oracle DB 9i R2 on a Mandrake 9. Now I would like to install the Developer Suite.

I understand that it should be installed in another ORACLE_HOME but, even after reading the docs, I am confused about a few things.

For the first installation, I added some entries in my .bash_profile (ORACLE_HOME; ORACLE_SID etc...) according to the database documentation.

Should I add entries for the DS too? Something like ORACLEDS_HOME ORACLEDS_SID for ex.?

I did unset the environment and stop the database and listener.

After installation, how would I switch environments between the DB and the DS?

I remember reading something about it in the Oracle documentation a while ago but I cannot find it anymore. Could somebody please point me to a link? (One for dummies...)
