Need to export OS/390 DB/2 to Oracle 8.1.7 on IBM pSeries running AIX 4.1.3 then replicate the database to Oracle 7.1 running on NT 4.0 SP6 Servers. The static Oracle data is read heavily, the database is updated hence replicated maximum once a day.

Does any one see areas to be observed with data conversion or reasons to force the workstation application accessing the Oracle 7.1 database to be re-certified (to ensure availability and no confliction with other desktop applications) to version 8. Note the Unix server Oracle 8.1.7 is mandatory.
