The City and County of Denver is seeking a lead Oracle Database
Administrator for the Denver Department of Safety.
The Oracle DBA will be implementing and maintaining multiple databases
in both a development and production environment. The successful
candidate will be responsible for the change management process
related to database administration. Responsibilities also include
Oracle installation, configuration and upgrades, backup and recovery
using both hot and cold backups, construction of Bourne shell scripts
to assist in database management, database performance tuning and
performance monitoring, and mentoring a junior DBA.
Highly desirable skills include experience with Oracle Recovery Manager, Oracle designer and Oracle Internet Application Server (IAS).
A Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science or a related field and three years of professional Oracle DBA (8, 8i or 9i) experience, of which two years must have been in a Unix environment, is required. An additional four years of professional information technology development or information systems experience may be substituted for four years of the education required.
Direct hires only.
The City and County does not sponsor visa candidates, all candidates
must be eligible to work in the United States. The City does not pay
for relocation.

Salary Range: $4774 – 7616/month.
