Thanks for taking the time to clear up some of my questions. I'm going to buy a pack of posterboard this weekend and start making some flowcharts of what happens during different types of transactions. If I can hand write all the steps it will really start to sink in and I'll feel a lot better about asking a company to trust me with their Oracle database in the future.
