Simply Won't Install

Folks,

If you're able to shed a little light on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

Recently purchased two Dell Optiplex workstations. I insert the Oracle 8.1.7 Client disk into the either system and the splash screen comes up. I click on Install/Deinstall Products. After this, nothing happens. Splash screen goes away and nothing. I have the proper permissions. The workstations have more than enough horse power. Any ideas?
