I just disagree.

When I write scripts for my own use, I don't document, I don't write usage, I don't do much of anything that would allow it to make it to production.

I'm just talking about scripts I write for myself in my own environment. There are lots of these kinds of things that people are asking about how to accomplish and the answers they get back scold them because they aren't following production guidelines.
