connect to Oracle over the web

I need to connect to an Oracle database at a customers site. I have the IP, account, password, etc. I am running from a Windows 2000 PC. What I apparently do not have is the Oracle Client and Oracle networking components. When I try to set up the DSN, it show that their are 3 drivers to choose from:

  1. CR Oracle 7
  2. CR Oracle 8 v3.6
  3. Microsoft ODBC for Oracle

The customer has described the database as: AODB Server / Oracle Server 7.3.2.3. I am assuming that I want to use ODBC for the connection. When I try to setup a DSN with number 3 above, for instance, I am told that I am missing Oracle type client and networking software. I went to the Oracle web site and found the Oracle 7 ODBC driver download - Version 2.5.3.1.7 (32 bit) for Windows NT 4.0/95/98. I downloaded the file Drv25317.exe and ran it. I had hoped that it was installing whatever I needed. Unfortunately, it did not help.

What am I missing?
