I have Oracle 8.7.1 installed and running without problems on RedHat 7.2. On my Dell Pentium-4 laptop with RedHat 7.3 i have Oracle 9.0.1 up and running.
9.0.1 on a Pentium-4 can be quite a job to install, but there is a lot of online descriptions on how to cope with the install problems.

Good luck!
