No, you are correct, Oracle aims to be the Microsoft of the DB world and
they are doing a good job of it. They give you this great database engine,
then hamper any and all development work by hanging 'not ready for prime
time' programming tools onto it.

Try free TOAD at toadsoft.com, it remembers your commands and lets you save favorite ones for easy reuse.
