Other than : "It doesn't work", you absolutely provide no clue at all.
If your client has configured an appropiate amount of virtual memory
on that server (2 * physical, so 1 G), a process using 400 M wouldn't
problably pose a reason to restart the O/S, or you must really like to
fight symptoms, instead of finding solutions.
There are many reasons why the process is growing to 400M
First of all, Oracle is implemented as a multithreaded server, so
*all* threads Oracle needs to service client connections will
contribute to the 400M.
So this can be an issue of a too big SGA, or too many client sessions,
or not running MTS or whatever.
As there are so many reasons, and this group is staffed by volunteers without a crystall ball, the only suitable advice I can give you is to hire a consultant who has sufficient Oracle knowledge, or to hire someone who can provide some more clues to this group. This is not the place for a full course on administrating Oracle on NT. Alternatively call Oracle Technical Support and submit your problem, they are paid for resolving questions like this.
