Thanks guys,

I do not know alot about this area. So you figured out ;-) I have a lot
to learn. I just happened to bump into to the subject when I heared that
an application (java) was storing the objects in tables (an oracle db)
using some kind of Oracle specific array.

That was the background to my question.
