Actually, I like it....ego and all that....
My clients keep telling me how great I am compared to IS and I enjoy that. Some days I have trouble getting my head through the door when it's time to go home.
Although I explain to my clients that IS is getting a bad rap and developers like me have an unfair advantage (we can choose our tools, we get to work in a quiet environment, there aren't any middlemen, we're completely focused on their project, and we're extremely responsive by virtue of knowing we can be dismissed at the slightest whim) they tend not to get past the fact that I make them feel good and deliver applications that do what they want when they want it.
Bottom line: A half-crazy geezer like me is having a fun making decent money while thousands (maybe millions...) of diligent, hard-working people aren't.
Sometimes I wonder if there's any justice at all in this world.
