Okay, first issue: is it generally looked upon as a *good* thing that this information is *not* included in the official Oracle9i Installation Guide(s) for Unix/Linux, etc.? I've been going over this, following the instructions to the letter. The information ought not to be incomplete, IMO.
Is there an instruction for this online? (i.e., is it an environment variable or what going into this file...)

Okay, the instructions only indicate that it identified the location of 'oraInventory'. There's no info on 'OUI'. I'd be interested...
