Hi folks, I know this has been asked here, *a lot*, but I've tried to
research Google:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=uninstall++%227.3%22+group:comp.databases.oracle.*&hl=en&as_drrb=b&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny=2000&as_maxd=13&as_maxm=2&as_maxy=2002&start=0&sa=N (plus several other searches),
but it seems I'm too late getting into the game to find a Y2K compatible installer (version 3.3?) at the Oracle site. I can't seem to find anything on the Michigan based FAQ, either. There are a number of references in the archives to a "Metalink" site, but I don't know what site this is - I tried www.metalink.com but didn't find any real oracle related downloads there (maybe I didn't look hard enough?).
Our server is running 8.0.5 and I do have the 8.1.7 installer. Can I just ignore the 7.4.3 client? Or should it be uninstalled - I'm not at all comfortable with playing with registry entries (I'm an admin for an Oracle based system but I'm not an Oracle admin).
Thanks very much in advance for any pointers...
