I have got an pro*c application, which does some monitoring of the db. To allow the dba to shutdown the db , I always close the connection and open it again. I would rather keep the connection but then I don't get the information
when a shutdown is intended and I would block the shutdown process.

Is there an easy way under an existing connection to get knowledge about the a shutdown process beeing started, so that I can close my connection. Any hints for this problem ? Thanks ! Received on Tue Feb 12 2002 - 08:46:47 CST
