The following solutions here

1. Find all the files called symcjit.dll
2. Rename them (for example, symcjit.old)
3. Reboot your machine
4. Install your Oracle 8i

9i is compatible with Windows XP Professional only (not Home Edition) If you have Windows XP Home Edition, you can follow my solutions as above.
