If anyone has a clue or useful hints I would appreciate help on the following:

I have an Oracle dev. and a test system running 8.x on Windows NT and an existing app running 7.x. on Solaris On dev and test I have a C app that uses the Oracle ODBC driver to read data form the 7.x system, process it and write i to the local 8.x database.

Both dev and test systems have the same configuration to the best of my knowledge... but I have probably missed something!

The operating systems also have the same language configurations.

Non English characters... for example the german "o+umlaut" are translated correctly on the dev system but not on the test system.

Any clues...?

Thanks in advance for any hints + regards to all,
