The biggest barrier I find is the new terminology and the shear volume of Oracle Documentation you have to wade through. I happened to have SAMs Oracle in 24 hours which kinda got me going but investing some time research, reading and asking the questions you do not understand instead of plowing ahead will save you much time and make the experience a more rewarding one.
