Didn't mean to sound rude..I actually meant to say:
have you connected to the Oracle Instance 'outside' of ASP - like with SqlPlus - If you can connect ( from the server where you are running the asp code) , then try using Oracle's ODBC driver or set up an DSN-less connection ...there may be a problem with the ODBC driver from Merant ( altho' they are usually pretty good - is it the correct version for the DB ?)
