Oracle 8i on Mandrake 8.1

I'm a begineer.
I would like to install Oracle 8i to study it. I followed the instruction I found on the book "Oracle 8i for Linux starter kit".
After I type:
./runInstaller
the program start and finis without opening the install window The messagges on the terminal window are:
