Hi,

I install Oracle8.0.5 and RedHat Linux6.2 on a COMPAQ proliant 3000 server.
Proliant 3000 has a raid card with 2 ports, A and B. I install system and oracle on array A(with mirror) through port A and oracle data on array B(with raid 5) through port B.
The Problem is When I create a data file, user can't login or do something until the creating job is finished. The system hang about 47 seconds while creating a 600MB data file. But It's only take 27 seconds to create a 500MB data file.
Are there any parameters should I tune on Linux or Oracle ? Or this problem just caused of the hardware architecture ? Received on Sun Nov 11 2001 - 21:45:53 CST
