You might want to check out the DataDirect SequeLink JDBC driver.
You can use this one and the same driver (type 3; J2EE compliant 100%
pure driver) to connect to Oracle 7.3.2+, 8.0.6+, 8i R1 (8.1.5), 8i R2
(8.1.6), 8i R3 (8.1.7) and 9i.
