Oracle 8.1.7.0.1 install problem under Mandrake 8.1 ....

Hi,

thanks for reading this. Under Mandrake 8.0 installing Oracle 8i v3 was no problem at all, even using the KDE environment.

But now I am running Mandrake 8.1 and installed 8i, the installation went fine, but the 2nd stage of linking blew up, asking me always to retry the steps, which I did but still it would not work. This is error messages I got: Error in invoking target relink of makefile ... This was for all the important libraries like precomp/lib/ins_precomp.mk; the list is long and includes network, sqlplus, rdbms, etc.

If somebody can help or has an advice I would appreciate that.
