Hi,

 I had the same problem, specially, with the entreprise edition, and the solution i found:

 When you're asked to connect to the instance, you have to write the database global name
 in the sid.

 If you're not sure of this name, you can obtain it by using dba or edit the tnsnames.ora,
 There's one place where this name is held in the configuration file.

 Also, be sure that the used protocol is TCP.
