Would appreciate help on this ...



Can the ORACLE database automatically disconnect
from an application that has been sitting 
idle for many hours or does this have


to be set up using the timer 


initiated disconnect through 


Net8 configuration ? 



Would this be set on the database side


or the application side ?



I am using the local naming (TNSNAMES) method 
and I don't think the timer initiated 


disconnect works with this 


naming convention.
