If you read Michael Lewis' book about Jim Clark "The New New Thing", he talks a lot about Clark's plan to digitize the whole doctor-patient relationship and get a few cents from every visit, transaction, etc. That effort eventually became WebMD, a far cry from the dream. That shows how complicated the whole health care business is.
I would think if someone could get a handle on health care from a data perspective, it would be Oracle. I believe it takes something requiring a huge effort to get Larry's full attention.
BTW, what is a QI person?
