Database design question

Does anyone know of where I can find some info on modeling marketing research databases? For example, I have a questionnaire going out to 100000 people and I need to track all of the respondents. There are quite a few ways of building the database and am looking for some suggestions from someone on what has worked and what has not worked.

We will need to generate reports from the data and I expect to build summary tables/views for reporting. But how normalized do these databases get and how is the best way to model questions responses etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
