8.1.7 Database No Longer Opens Automatically at Server Startup

Hi,

We have a ver 8.1.7 database on a development machine of ours. It is a Win 2k Pro sp2 machine. Problem is the database no longer automatically opens when the machine is rebooted. The OracleServiceDATABASENAME service is running and automatically starts at boot time.

I can go into DBA Studio and manually open the database with no problems.

The db used to automatically open and I'm not sure why it does not anymore.

I am very new to oracle and would appreciate any suggestions on what I can look at/change to remedy this problem.
