Host name on Net 8 configuration?

Attempting to install Oracle 8i enterprise edition win2k, 8.1.7 on a win95 machine (win2k machine crashed, waiting for service call now on 4th day). Is installation possible on win95? If so, what is the host name for Net 8 configuration? (I get port 389 and ssl 636 as default on the screen asking for host name in Net 8.) What other configuration issues will I need to look out for if Net 8 configuration is successful?

Most of Oracle is currently loaded. However, at the SQL prompt, when attempting to log on using system, manager or scott, tiger, I get the following error: ERROR : ORA-12560: TNS: protocol adapter error
