ORACLE_HOME is not set in your environment (Mandrake-80)

I tried to install the patch (glibc.2.1.3) from Oracle on Mandrake 8.0. But
everytime i try


that I get following message prompted:



ORACLE_HOME is not set in your environment




It is pity, because everythings else has been installed properly.(I hope I
answered the reques of the root.sh for the local bin directory correct
as/usr/local/bin?)



Any suggestions are welcome.
