I use a Pentium III and 196 mb of ram (max for my machine). I'm running Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise edition against NT4 with Developer also installed. I have had no performance problems but I use it as my playground and not for anything heavy duty. If I recall correctly I had to give up almost 4 GIGS of space for all that . Read the manuals before you install the software then read it again. D2K needs to be installed in a separate oracle home and (I think) must be installed first. I had to do a complete removal of Oracle because I didn't read enough first. The un-installer doesn't do it, I ended up tinkering with the registry. Also the space requirements in my documentation were erroneous. I had to format the partition for oracle as NTFS for it to fit even though the books said I had enough space.
