Hi All,
i still run into trouble with my installation, basically, i get quite far into it , and during the installation i, get an error message, saying that i have run out of space on my /tmp/oraInstall/..actions.log ,....

I guess my question is

1.Is there a way of redirecting those install logs to a drive or directory with more space ie /newdrive/tmp....... OR/
2. Can a temp or tmp directory be set in the environment settings (in the .bash_profile) that will dictate or redirect where the installation logs go ,if thats the case then i can redirect them to /newdrive/tmp/Orainstall..... ie environment variable

3.Does Redhat clean out the /tmp directory upon bootup just like solaris?

I have run out of space on my original harddrive ( / ) and have installed a newdrive ( /newdrive) on which i have installed oracle and called it /newdrive as a result my oracle_home looks like this

ORACLE_HOME=/newdrive/app/oracle/8.1.6 etc..... and

ORACLE_BASE=/newdrive/................

Any suggestions or solutions. Received on Fri May 11 2001 - 03:56:43 CDT
