According to IBM spokesmen interviewed by CNNFN it means Informix is no more. They are going to wrap the technology into DB2.
I think best case Informix will be to IBM what RDB is to Oracle. Something they support only as long as they can make money on it. In other words, for developers it just became the new COBOL.
