Hi everyone,



I am new this field and I apologise if my questions appear to be rather
'general', but I do hope excel in this field one day and I have always found
newsgroups to be a valuable source of information, so I am hoping that
someone can help me out here.



Basically, I just wanted to know what is the purpose a SQL Server?
