Error 12154: Could not resolve service name

I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 and an getting the error message ... '12154: Could not resolve service name.'

I have a Pentium 4, so I had to use a workaround for the installation. I installed the database after the initial installation, then I installed a listener.

Rebooted, but the problem still exists.

I am getting the error by trying the 0040 examples, namely, the Excel example and the IIS/ASP examples.

TNSNAMES.ORA SEEMS OK ... (database is called 'mine'), thanks MINE_MINE =(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = mine)(PORT = 1521)))

(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = mine)(SERVER = DEDICATED)))
