Actually the best solution would be to fire up the component integration services with the Sybase server and create proxy tables that point to the Oracle database. This will require the direct connect for Oracle from Sybase. This allows your application to stay the same. It will require a later release of Sybase, 11.5 or 11.9 can't remember which. We ran it in production for a few years and it worked pretty good.
