Thank you very much for answer.
I read and tried this before and it didn't seem to work. Now I know a
bit more:
The notebook I want to use Oracle 8i Lite on is configured for a LAN
*and* a modem connection.
Whenever I'm not connected to the internet over the modem I cannot
connect to Oracle. Sqlplus hangs completely without giving me an error
message. But I *am* able to connect to the database if I'm connected to
the internet. Some data seem to be transferred, I have to wait for half
a minute. After this time I get connected and I can to work offline.
So:
Why can't I connect offline?
...and btw:
is there a way to set the 'ODBC:Polite' as default so I don't have to use it on every connect? Received on Wed Feb 14 2001 - 13:22:29 CST
