Oracle CLOB data / ADO problem

Has anyone been able to retreive and display an oracle CLOB from a version 8
Oracle database using ADO and the Oracle OLEDB provider (not the Microsoft
provider)?  When using a client or server side recordset, the select query
is processed without a problem, but when accessed, the field containing the
CLOB is always a zero length string or NULL.
