Being a relative newbie myself, the most useful book I have found is
Oracle8i DBA certification Exam Guide by Couchman & Schwinn. It's not really
a good reference work, such as Oracle8i DBA handbook by Loney, but the good
thing about the exam guide is it takes you through all the relevant topics,
to the kind of depth that you will need as a starter.
