no, nothing special, just create the database link. since you report that "everything looks fine", then we should assume that the db link you've created is working. congratulations.
on the off chance that you are experiencing a problem, then including additional information, like specific ORA- or TNS- error messages, the OS and version, the database version, patchset level, statement syntax, etc. can be of help in determining the problem.
