ODBC Oracle Connection ?

Hello,
i want to access an Oracle Server (Personal Oracle 8i on W2000 Pro) on a LAN, from a Remote Client (Running W2000 Pro Too or Other) using Delphi 5 Pro;

It works well but i need to install Net8 assistant to create a local service wich point on my server service....

Can i do the same thing installing only the ODBC Driver on the client ? (actually, there is an error when i choose db oraccle drivers during dsn creating )
