Ora-2074 and VB using ADO

We have a Oracle (8.1.6) function that basically does an insert into a
table, and then commits or rolls back depending on the status of that
insert.



I can manually run the function using SQLPLUS without problems, but
when our VB (6.0, sp4) application calls that function, we get "Cannot
rollback a distributed transaction" error.   Any ideas?
