Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.tools -> Detect the version of ORACLE installed on NT/UNIX?
Can somebody tell me what the easiest/most reliable way of obtaining the installed version of ORACLE is?
I will need to do this for Windows NT/2000, and for UNIX platforms.
I need to do it from either/both PL *SQL scripts, and possibly NT/UNIX command/shell scripts.
What happens if multiple versions of ORACLE are installed?
I am interested ONLY in ORACLE 8.0.6 and 8.1.6 onwards.
