Oracle 8i installation on AIX 4.3.3

I cannot get Oracle 8i to install on our AIX 4.3.3 system.  The OIU fails
right up front trying to load libawt.a from the CDROM.  Does anyone know a
way to get around this?  I set up an unattended installation but OIU still
insists on loading libawt.a.
