Dear,

I'm always thanks to you the newgroup contributors. Currently my customer site met a problems. Some db file was deleted. I'm not sure this was done by mistake or conscious or hardware defects.
Our problem was there was no backups. It was created a few hours ago. However fortunately the deleted files are not currently uses. That means it was online but no data in it.
So I tried to offline this datafile :
alter database datafile 'xxxxxxx' offline [immediate];

But it doesn't work.
Can you tell me it is possible to drop the files and startup open ? Without recovery procedures ?

TIA. Received on Thu Nov 23 2000 - 22:19:10 CST
