.server for any product that comes with the server kit, so including exp/imp and sqlloader.
.tools for Developer
.misc for any product not in any of the other categories.

Please do NOT crosspost your questions to *ALL THREE* groups. Also, try to resolve your issues yourself before you start posting. Many newbies don't seem to read the Oracle manuals at all. "Big picture questions" are typically addressed in the Oracle Concepts Manual.
And -oh yes- *ALWAYS* include your version and platform in your posts, many issues require a version and platform specific answer.
