Passing parameter from Forms 6.0 to VB program

Help please, I have no visual basic knowledge. I will eventually need to write a Visual basic 6.0 program that will sit on the operating system that I have to call/run from an Oracle form. For now I would like to know what is the best way to execute the VB program and send it a parameter.
Can this be accomplished with a HOST command? ie host (programname.exe, parameter)????
