Hi Antony,

I took a look at the ORACLE support and found document 97367.1:

"You are missing the aio_nwait system call that is needed on 4.3.2 of AIX." "Refer to page 1-19 of the 8.1.6 Installation guide for IBM AIX."

If this is the cause of your problem, you must have got some errors in the make.log (refering to aio_nwait).

For AIX 4.3 you should have at least. (info from ORACLE)
